Wall to Wallpaper

Honestly, when I first received this project I didn't think that it was going to be that hard. However, once I actually started it I realized how complicated and tedious this project really was. Trying to make a print that can repeat is not an easy task. At first I started using a speedy cut block to make my print, but it wasn't sturdy enough and it eventually broke. I had to go out and buy another block but this time I bought a lino cutting block. This incident did put me a little bit behind me schedule, but I made up the time. I had so many ideas for this projects and several different options in which I could carry it out. the final design was chosen based on the stability of the form. I would say that this is one of my most successful projects in surface research.

Phantasm

This is another project from my time studio class. I have to say, I am really proud of it. A lot of work went into making it. and I got all of this done in about two and half weeks.  I had about 10 different people assist me in the making of this shot film involving props, transportation, and editing.

The title, the script and the characters were all created by me. I really felt like a director/producer during the whole process. I  enjoyed telling people what to say and where to be. The only thing that I would change, is the camera quality. Unfortunately, a better camera wasn't in my budget...

Since making this movie, I have done a whole bunch of research on different types of cameras, audio recorders and filming kits.

One thing is for sure If I ever do another short film like this I will definitely better prepared for it and it will be twice as good.

Artist Intro: Bansky

Perhaps one of the most famous graffiti artist in the world is the British artist, Banksy.

Not much is known about the actually identity of Banksy. The only thing about his identity that has been confirmed is the year he was born and his place of birth.(1974 Bristol, England)

Banksy's art work is most recognizable for for focusing on themes of

Anti-capitalism, Anti-fascism, Anti-imperialism, Anti-authoritarianism, and other such related movements.

Banksy's technique basically uses stencils and some computer generated prints.

Banksy is normally uses visual imagery to get his points across but he has also made works that rely on words.

It is still argued by many whether or not Banksy work should be considered "art". Most critics have deemed Banksy's art as simple vandalism.

He is also known for making sculpture and altering film and sculpture.

In April 2006, Banksy made a sculpture based on a crumpled red phone box with a pickaxe in its side, and placed it on the of a side street.

Banksy has shown that he is a true master of satirical art.

APPROPRIATION

In time studio we have just completed a new project.
The point of the project was to take videos that we found on the internet and put them together in a way that may change the context of them. When my professor gave me the assignment, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I had actually had the idea to do this long before I had even entered high school.
The purpose of the video is to provoke some thought.  I hope I succeeded..
